Good health habits are generally slow to develop. And it takes a lot of effort to stay the course for the long journey. After the bariatric diet ends, we try various other diets and exercise routines. Yet still we seek that magical combination of what is both enjoyable and easy to stick with. And that’s precisely why I put together diet hacks after bariatric surgery!

We need to make eating healthy diets a lot simpler! We should be able to eat healthy — whether its a 5 minute lunch break at work or a relaxing dinner at home.

Let’s face it, we lead busy lives. We have to learn a whole new way of eating and drinking. And likely we must remedy a few health conditions after bariatric surgery. So our diets should support our lifestyles rather than work against them.

Diet Hacks after Bariatric Surgery

1. Tasty Fruits You Can Pick At

Fruits are very healthy and tasty when you’ve got the right ones on your plate. Stick with organic blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries from your local farm or grocery store. Berries are lower in sugar than other fruits yet they satisfy my sweet-tooth.. A whole cup is under 100 calories! And you can nibble on these slowly, picking up one at a time. So you won’t be grabbing for something else to eat in 20-minutes. Plus, berries are easy on digestion. And unless you have an allergy, nothing can really go wrong after you’ve eaten them.

2. Squeeze a Smoothie Together

Smoothies satisfy my sweet-tooth and are very pleasurable to sip through a straw. And they can be just as fun to make. Smoothies are very much experimental foods. You throw different kinds of fruits, powders, milks, and other foods into a blender and let it do its thing. Check out various recipes. Then play with your ingredients and mix together a smoothie you’ll be “famous” for one day!

You also can turn to juicing. There are plenty of juicing recipes online for you to peruse. Cold pressed green juices squeeze all of the juice into your glass, and there’s no pulp or fiber. So green juices are very easy to digest, and are a great source of phytonutrients, too.

3. Throw Some Garlic and Onions in a Pan

Make sure you’re whipping up a wholesome meal in the evening. It’s easier than you think! Just grab a wok or good skillet. Throw a bit of butter and some garlic and onion slices into the hot pan. Then stir-fry or caramelize to provide a savory base to build upon. All kinds of food combinations can be added to the pan. Think of beef cubes, broccoli, fresh basil and soy sauce. Imagine zucchini noodles, mushrooms, chicken breast, tarragon and sour cream. Fresh herbs, protein, and non-starchy vegetables effortlessly combine into something tasty. So you have a healthy meal that’s easy to prepare after work.

Diet Hacks after Bariatric Surgery

So these are my simple diet hacks after bariatric surgery. They make eating healthy a lot easier to stick with for the long haul, once the honeymoon period is over. Keep in mind: There are a lot of gentle, easy to digest foods. Explore new cuisines and try new foods. Have fun with it! There are plenty of recipes for tasty and light meals that are easy on digestion and carry a real health kick that your body needs.

A powder room was redone with a swirling red-and-white wallpaper to mirror the pops of red throughout the rest of the house and filled with burnished brass and gilded furniture topped with classical white objects d'arte in bright whites for a subtle contrast. Gorgeous.I like to use the color Red to warm up a room. Red Parrot from Benjamin Moore was perfect for this master bath in an urban townhouse. I particularly liked the contrast with the cool Calacutta marble and the white Empire soaking tub from Waterworks. Red Parrot is a particular favorite of mine because the claret undertone softens what can be percieved as a strong color.
