Is a Keto Diet Right for Me? Ask a Dietician Expert.

In 2018, keto was the most googled diet, and two of Amazon’s top 10 best-sellers in nutrition happen to be keto-focused. The Keto diet also is trending on social media and continues to get endorsement from celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and the Kardashians. It’s obvious the Keto diet is highly popular, but is it right […]

Eat This to Boost Your Metabolism and Burn Calories

Eating foods found on a low-carb Mediterranean diet can boost your metabolism and aid weight loss. That’s because a higher metabolism burns more calories. And that makes it easier to get rid of unwanted body fat. Low calorie intake can hit the brakes on weight loss.  The body can go into “starvation mode” if we […]

Using Tech for Good Health and Weight Loss

Do You Use Tech for Good Health or Bad Habits? If you think modern society is generally unhealthy, then you’re probably correct. Studies show that we’re much less healthy today than we were in times past. Our ancestors used their bodies much more than we do — they’d run, hunt, and essentially use all muscles […]

Controlling Your Hunger Hormones Prevents Weight Regain

If we should achieve our weight loss goals, it is particularly disheartening to regain some or all of those pounds. Grabbing the brass ring is great, dropping and losing it is not. Equally disheartening is the discovery that the weight regain may be the result of a betrayal by an ally. Our own bodies may […]

Bringing Your Workout Indoors

The majority of people tend to use a gym to workout, but this isn’t necessarily the best option for all of us. Some of us feel self-conscious working out alongside regular gym goers, some of us are put off by pricey membership plans, and others simply can’t find the motivation to travel to the gym […]

4 Healthy Habits for Living a Better Life Right Now!

It seems that people have different views on what is a healthy life. Some believe the only healthy habits needed are eating good food and not stuffing your face full of junk. Others think that being active is more important than diet. And some believe you need a combination of the two to be completely healthy. For me, I […]

Good for Your Gut Foods to Make You Feel Amazing

Not Good for Your Gut Foods The common phrase ‘you are what you eat’ is both annoying and, to an extent, completely right. If you spend a lot of time filling up on “not good for your gut foods” — those processed foods high in unhealthy fats and sugar — then you are going to gain weight. […]

End Metabolic Dysfunction and Lose Weight

What is Metabolic Dysfunction? Metabolic dysfunction is partly the result of a heavy sugar and processed foods diet, according to my fellow health guide on the HealthCentral diet and exercise site. People with metabolic syndrome have a tendency to be overweight around the abdomen – having belly fat or an “apple shape.” A waist circumference […]

Three Ways to Know It’s Not Head Hunger

Head hunger is eating out of habit without giving thought to whether or not you are actually hungry. It can also be an attempt to self-sooth. The concept is unfamiliar to many people and many more do not distinguish between head hunger and physical hunger. Head hunger is more associated with those who have problems controlling […]

The Smart Way to Manage Calories

A calorie is a measurement tool used to determine the energy in food and beverages from the carbohydrates, fats, and proteins it contains. The simple equation for weight loss is if you burn more calories than you consume you will lose weight. Read: Eating Food That Burn More Calories  This is true enough, but not absolute. There […]

Beat Belly Fat by Eating Right

There is no good way to be fat, but there is a worst way. Fat around the midsection, or belly fat, can be especially dangerous. And getting rid of this belly bulge is important for more than just reasons of vanity. Because belly fat increases health risks for heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some types of cancer. Abdominal […]

A powder room was redone with a swirling red-and-white wallpaper to mirror the pops of red throughout the rest of the house and filled with burnished brass and gilded furniture topped with classical white objects d'arte in bright whites for a subtle contrast. Gorgeous.I like to use the color Red to warm up a room. Red Parrot from Benjamin Moore was perfect for this master bath in an urban townhouse. I particularly liked the contrast with the cool Calacutta marble and the white Empire soaking tub from Waterworks. Red Parrot is a particular favorite of mine because the claret undertone softens what can be percieved as a strong color.
