About. Cheryl Ann Borne, publisher My Bariatric Life.

Cheryl Ann Borne is My Bariatric Life

Cheryl Ann Borne devoted her entire career to healthcare. She is an invited speaker and contributing writer. Her columns are featured on HealthCentral Obesity, PM360, BariatricPal and others. Cheryl’s profession is that she researches and develops informational content for consumers that goes through Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review and FDA approval. Her well-researched, factually accurate content assists people to come to vital decisions regarding their health and well-being along with the advice from trusted healthcare providers, family, and friends. Cheryl also develops educational programming for physicians and professionals. Cheryl graduated with honors and a degree in communications. See her credentials on LinkedIn. Cheryl is now retired to the countryside where she lives the simple life: organic farming, food preservation, recipe development, and of course, writing.

My Bariatric Life

Cheryl, writing as My Bariatric Life, is an obesity health activist and Paleo recipe developer. She grew from a fit teen to a morbidly obese processed food junkie and couch potato on ~10 prescription medications for diabetes, celiac disease, depression, acid reflux, asthma, and hypertension. Since 2003 she’s maintained massive weight loss from gastric bypass surgery and remains free from 9 of the prescriptions. “I know that I would not be here today if it were not for the surgery.” Obesity is the most pressing health concern facing society.

In 2013, Cheryl underwent total body contouring with Dr. Joseph F. Capella and facial plastic surgery with Dr. Catherine Winslow to remove the last traces of her obesity. Today, Cheryl is a size 2 down from a size 24W and living larger than ever! “I am on a path to living life fully now, making up for lost time and a life half lived. I am breaking through all of my barriers, the fears that have held me back in the past, from being exactly who I want to be and doing what it is I want to do.”

Cheryl’s passion is transforming healthcare. She imagines a world where obesity and it’s related diseases are no longer a problem! To that end, Cheryl inspires patients with outstanding resources and by sharing her long-term success in defeating obesity and its related illnesses. “To those embarking upon their transformations, I wish that you find the joy and love of your bodies that I have found. It’s not simple to change ingrained behaviors, but healthy habits do become habitual overtime. So to an extent, it does get easier with each step you take. It starts today. Are you ready to take that first step, and the next? If you are, just whisper “yes” to yourself. It is time to acknowledge it out-loud and make it real. And to those whom have completed their journeys, please be sure to share your triumphs and your tribulations so as to pave the way for those who will follow in your footsteps.”
